Orsolya Korcsolán: Hollywood in the past: music, and the movies – stars on stage

Jewish Cultural Festival - August 29

29 august 2018 19:00 - 21:00

Location: Díszterem

In the frame of the Jewish Cultural Festival, Hungary’s most beautiful cinema, the Urania National Film Theater will again turn into a concert hall to evoke the one-time sparkling of Hollywood by world famous violinist Orsolya Korcsolán, playing, among others, pieces from Charlie Chaplin movies, Ben Hur and Fiddler on the Roof. This time, Junior Prima prize pianist István Lajkó will be Orsolya Korcsolán’s partner.

Earlier this year, Korcsolán gave an acclaimed concert at Uránia presenting pieces from her latest album ‘Silenced’, released by the Deutsche Grammophon, with music by chamber composer Sándor Kuti who was murdered during the Holocaust. While the festival, Orsolya Korcsolán will return to Urania’s Main Hall to give another unique performance: Hollywood Anno recalls the amazing pieces of Darius Milhaud, Hanns Eisler, Academy Award winner Erich Korngold and Miklós Rózsa, accompanied by movie excerpts, photos and testimonies.

Picture quality is guaranteed by Hollywood; sound by the world famous violinist Orsolya Korcsolán who lives in Vienna and has been, since her debut in New York, a regular guest at concert halls across the world. She shows the audience not only classical lineup, but works of persecuted and muted composers.

Remember the location at Urania National Film Theater (Budapest, Rákóczi út 21.) and the date and time: August, 29, 2018, 7 pm.
