Choose life. Right from the opening line and first scene we know: this is an unorthodox, revolutionary from the point of view of form and content, indeed, literally revolutionary film. On the one hand, because of the way it handles time: it is as though the whole thing is playing in the present continuous, everything happens in front of the viewer, it brings the viewer into a world that one could only inhabit as a junkie. On the other hand, it does not judge, it does not preach about drugs, it does not pretend to show the way out of this downward spiral. It just depicts.
