A musical film based on the comedy Under the Big Top by I. Ilf and E. Petrov. In the mid-30s Marion Dikson, an American woman, escapes from the USA with her little black son. Being aware of her private life fon Kneishits, a circus artist, blackmails her forcing her to work with him. Having performed an offbeat attraction in the USSR, Marion finds new friends, meets her love and makes a decision to stay here forever.
