Citizen Kane excepted, the movie that has featured more times on the list of best films of all time. And it would be hard to disagree with those who believe that this film is not only the most important work out of the New Hollywood school, the launch of a new era in film history, but also that it is one of the most complex films, a movie in which every single figure is an extraordinary character. Even the supporting actors are memorable. Not to speak of the image compositions. As a toy car drives away from the house, followed by a similar, real car, it is as though it is more than just a brilliant take. It is a visual metaphor. About lost youth, about fate. Destiny. The entire film resides in particular frames by Coppola.
