The film stars a real-life princess. After all, Grace Kelly was not only like a princess in the meaning of being brilliant and elegant while remaining slightly aloof, but she really was the Princess of Monaco on the French Riviera. She shot one of her most charming and pleasing films with the finest thriller director of all time. ‘Romantic thriller’ is not a bad categorization because the movie is not short on thrills. It features fear-of-falling, one of the central motifs of the most important and best-known Hitchcock films. This was the last time Hitchcock worked with Grace Kelly, although Cary Grant went on to feature in several of the director’s great films as the unjustly accused man.
