During Hitler’s official visit to Rome in May 1938 Antonietta, a beautiful but run-down working-class woman, gets to know her neighbour Gabriele, a victim of discrimination because of his homosexuality. True friendship blossoms between the unlikely couple in this masterpiece of Italian cinema.
