Summerlight… and Then Comes the Night | Screening with Discussion

Summerlight... and Then Comes the Night
Icelandic comedy, film drama, 111 min, 2025
in Icelandic with Hungarian subtitles

Show times:

Director: Elfar Adalsteins

Cast: Heida Reed, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Svandis Dora Einarsdottir, Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir, Þorsteinn Bachmann, Sveinn Ólafur Gunnarsson, Siggi Ingvarsson, Atli Oskar Fjalarsson

After the screening, we look forward to a discussion about the film and the everyday wonders of Jón Kalman Steffánson's world.
The participants of the discussion are: Anna Sándor, editor-in-chief of WMN, journalist, and Kata Szeder, art manager, co-founder of the KultúrFlipper project.

The Village is brimming with stories and if you listen carefully it might tell you some: of the Manager who dreams in Latin and leaves his career for Astronomy and old books, of a translucent boy who carves moorland birds, of an open-air affair and a rock that is chiselled to dust. Based on the eponymous book by celebrated Icelandic author Jon Kalman Stefansson.
