Spotlight on the Producer – Robert Lantos

09.19. Introduction: Atom Egoyan director and Robert Lantos producer

Plenty of terms have been lifted from psychology into everyday parlance: processing of trauma is today a highly fashionable expression. These days, trauma is one of the vital starting points for any psychological analysis. Thus one could say that this film is more relevant and important today than when it was released. It presents an attempt to process a collective trauma, showing how traumas, significant traumas impacting an entire community, simply cannot be processed. In the movie directed by Atom Egoyan, a bus crashes into a frozen lake and from this horrifying tragedy he generates a really remarkable work.
