Three friends – a young Jew, an Arab and a black – take just 24 hours to sink ever deeper into the Parisian underworld. Hate is a hypnotic vision about alienation, racism and violence. Mathieu Kassovitz’s black and white cult hit projects the kneejerk aggression of urban youth as a symptom of a deeper malaise in French society.
Thirty years after its premiere, the film is back in theaters in a restored 4K version. The screening is being organized in collaboration with Budapest Film.
