In the midst of the crowded village fete, the young engineer Pista Baracs and the count’s daughter Rolla fall in love. To begin with the Korláthy family welcome the young man into their home but when they learn that there are no plans to build the railway station on their estate, they boot him out of the mansion. In order to teach the arrogant gentry a lesson, Baracs despatches his stableman Miska, dressed as Count Eleméry, to the Korláthys’ soiree. Miska is more than willing to take on the mission because he has something to settle with Counts Pixi and Mixi, who are becoming overly familiar with his fiancée. This Márton Keleti adaptation of the classic operetta by Albert Szirmai holds the record of being the most viewed Hungarian film of all time.
