Un viaje temporal a través de la vida de Carlos Acosta, leyenda de la danza y primer bailarín negro en interpretar algunos de los papeles más famosos del ballet, en compañías como el Houston Ballet o Royal Ballet de Londres. Cuenta desde su dura infancia hasta su madurez, etapa que será protagonizada por el propio bailarín, quien, pese a su éxito y reconocimiento internacional, nunca olvidó sus orígenes. La conmovedora película es un recorrido por el camino que conduce al nacimiento de una estrella.
