Director: Zaven Najjar
Birahima, a ten-year-old orphan from Guinea, recounts with irony how he is swept into tribal warfare while trying to reach his aunt in Liberia. Yacouba, a shady drifter, persuades him to become a child soldier, while himself assuming the role of a grigriman and witch doctor among the fighters. Shunted between rival factions, Birahima is forced to grow up quickly and gradually learns to distrust the stories he is told.
