Police discover the body of a young women on the outskirts of the town. A 17-year-old, a member of the travelling circus then in town, is suspected of her rape and murder. The case goes to trial and since the accused has confessed, he is sentenced to five years in prison. However, defence attorney Kolár suspects that something just doesn’t fit… A complex and thought-provoking courtroom drama directed by the Slovak Martin Hollý, which is saturated with mistrust and the mood of the not-so-distant 1950s.
