The quiet life of four childhood friends is turned upside down by the unexpected death of one of them, Stuart. Gus (John Cassavetes), Harry (Ben Gazzara), and Archie (Peter Falk) go first on a drinking binge on the town in New York. Their journey is driven by common anxiety for days and nights, drunk and sober, getting drunk again. Driven by sudden idea, they end up in London.
