Seven recollections of Dunapataj from the 20th century. The carpenter, village party secretary, school director, notary and simple peasant each tell their own story and the past of a community. At the heart of conversations is the path leading to the 1956 Revolution and the uprising itself. The film was pioneering not only for discussing topics that had previously been considered taboo but it is also a remarkable document about the functioning of memory. Reporter and sociologist Bálint Magyar was director Pál Schiffer’s colleague in drafting the film sociography.
