rzysztof Kieślowski’s name is now inextricably linked to the most profound and lyrical works of European cinema. His “Three Colors” trilogy is one of the most fascinating works in the history of cinema. The three films link the three colors of the French national flag to the three slogans of the Revolution: liberty, equality, fraternity. The individual parts of the trilogy form a coherent intellectual arc that explores the ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity through personal destinies.
Each part of the trilogy functions as a standalone story, yet they are bound together by subtle threads: recurring motifs, intersecting lives, and the fragility of human relationships. Krzysztof Kieślowski’s sensitive directorial vision, along with the harmony between the visual world and the music, creates a unique atmosphere that is both personal and universal.
We are organizing this film series to mark the 30th anniversary of Kieślowski’s death, paying tribute to a filmmaker who, through his films, posed the deepest questions of existence—quietly, yet with profound power.
